Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Meridiano - Revista Colombiana de Salud Mental tiene como finalidad publicar trabajos originales que se enmarquen dentro de las áreas de investigación básica o aplicada en salud mental y que correspondan a revisiones narrativas o artículos de reflexión, reportes de casos clínicos, estudios epidemiológicos, ensayos clínicos, revisiones sistemáticas y cartas al editor. Para ello, se invita a la participación de profesionales y estudiantes con interés en el campo.

Los manuscritos deberán ser cargados a la página de la Revista Meridiano a través de la plataforma OJS. El envío de documentos para ser publicados no genera ningún costo para los autores. Para cargar un documento lo invitamos a que se registre en la plataforma, haciendo clic en el vínculo que se encuentra en el costado superior derecho o al final de este texto. 

La recepción de un manuscrito no implica compromiso de publicación por parte de la revista. Todos los trabajos sometidos serán evaluados inicialmente por el Comité Editorial y, de considerarse pertinentes, enviados a revisión por pares externos, seleccionados por su experiencia en el área temática correspondiente. Con base en este proceso, el Comité Editorial podrá decidir su aceptación, rechazo o la solicitud de ajustes, así como realizar las modificaciones de forma necesarias para su adecuación a las normas y estilo editorial de la revista.

El proceso de evaluación se llevará a cabo bajo principios estrictos de confidencialidad. Se garantizará la protección de la información, los resultados y el trabajo intelectual de los autores, así como la identidad y los conceptos emitidos por revisores y editores.

Al someter un manuscrito, los autores confirman que: 

  1. Todos los autores del manuscrito participaron activamente en el proceso de análisis y escritura del manuscrito. 
  2. Los resultados y manuscrito no han sido publicados previamente (a excepción de presentación en conferencias).
  3. El manuscrito no está sometido en ninguna otra revista.  
  4. El envío del manuscrito ha sido autorizado por todos los co-autores.

Copyright Notice

Una vez haya sido sometido y aceptado el manuscrito, los autores deberán firmar el formulario de transferencia de los derechos del artículo a la Revista Meridiano. De este modo, los derechos patrimoniales son transferidos a la revista, mientras que el autor conserva los derechos intelectuales.

To ensure long-term preservation and accessibility, we have enabled LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) systems to store and distribute journal content across participating partner libraries. Through the LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto and the CLOCKSS Publisher Manifesto, we guarantee that our content is securely preserved and distributed among global academic institutions. Additionally, we utilize the preservation services provided by the PKP Preservation Network (PN), ensuring the continued, long-term availability of our publication for all readers.

The journal screens all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using the Turnitin system.

Use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Tools in Scientific Publishing

Artificial intelligence should only be used to enhance language quality, improve literature searches, generate hypotheses, or create images. It must not be used to analyze or interpret data, nor to generate study conclusions. If authors employ AI or AI-assisted tools in the production of their scientific work, they must include a disclosure in the Acknowledgements and Disclosures section at the end of the manuscript. This note must specify the AI model used and provide a detailed description of its application. Artificial intelligence cannot be credited as an author. Authors bear sole responsibility for the integrity, validity, and originality of their work. Improper use of AI tools may result in the rejection of the manuscript.
