Resumen

La presente revisión narrativa realiza un breve relato histórico sobre la evolución del desarrollo y la aplicación de las principales técnicas de cirugía fetal intrauterina. Especialmente se expone su uso en patologías fetales como las complicaciones en embarazos monocoriales, la hernia diafragmática congénita, el mielomeningocele, la obstrucción urinaria inferior y en las lesiones pulmonares fetales explorando en cada caso las distintas alternativas quirúrgicas disponibles en la actualidad y su utilidad clínica. Al final se discute la implementación de la cirugía fetal en el país, un campo en el cual la Organización Sanitas Internacional espera consolidarse como centro de referencia nacional e internacional.
