Resumen
Los trastornos eosinofílicos primarios del tracto gastrointestinal son raros e incluyen alteraciones desde el esófago hasta el recto. Requieren un amplio diagnóstico diferencial con múltiples entidades que los pueden simular. La gastroenteritis eosinofílica suele cursar con buen pronóstico una vez se instaure el manejo apropiado. Se presenta el caso de una paciente de 29 años de edad, quien consulta por diarrea crónica y dolor abdominal de causa no clara, con eosinofilia importante en hemograma. Se practicaron estudios endoscópicos con toma de biopsias, evidenciando en colon derecho e íleon gran infiltrado inflamatorio de eosinófilos con diagnóstico histológico de gastroenteritis eosinofílica. La paciente presentó notoria mejoría de sus síntomas posterior al inicio de corticoides. Se presenta el caso y la revisión de la literatura de esta entidad.
