Abstract
Morton's neuroma is a peri neural fibrosis of the interdigital nerves that affects the forefoot, generating a limiting neuritic type of pain. The diagnosis has historically been made by means of an adequate anamnesis and clinical examination; however, it is supported by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging to establish the diagnosis. A review of the published literature was carried out in order to evaluate the imaging utility for the diagnosis of Morton's neuroma comparing the sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging in the published literature, determining through the selection of grouped articles that while both studies have a high sensitivity for its diagnosis, magnetic resonance imaging has a slightly higher sensitivity.
