Abstract
This article discusses the importance of evaluating the thymus in pediatric radiographs to avoid misdiagnosis of mediastinal pathologies. The thymus, a primary lymphoid organ, can be seen in chest radiographs up to 3 years of age. A characteristic sign is the "sail sign," which can be mistaken for the cardiac silhouette or mediastinal masses. Correct identification of the thymus is crucial to avoid unnecessary invasive procedures.
