Abstract

Humanized care is an intersubjective, reciprocal, interactive, and interpersonal process between the caregiver and the cared-for subject. It involves knowledge, actions, values, will, and a commitment to provide care during health and illness. This care is grounded in scientific knowledge, technical skills, and the therapeutic relationship between the patient/user and the nursing professional. However, technological advancements for safe care and the achievement of indicators and goals in nursing have led to a postponement of direct care. In response to this reality, Jean Watson, a theorist of Humanized Care, asserts that amidst the risk of dehumanization in the care provided due to administrative restructuring in most healthcare systems, it's essential to reclaim the human, spiritual, cultural, and social aspects of transpersonal care. This involves identifying, valuing, and assessing the different dimensions inherent in caring for the satisfaction of the care recipient's needs. Achieving this necessitates assertive communication, reconciling care, and considering the perceptions of those under care.
