Resumen

Introducción: la hemofilia es una enfermedad que dentro de la historia natural, presenta hemartrosis repetitivas con el desarrollo posterior de sinovitis crónica. Esto produce la destrucción del cartílago (condrolísis) y la instauración de osteoartrosis en la articulación. Dentro de las opciones de tratamiento se encuentran la educación, profilaxis, manejo médico y las opciones quirúrgicas. La radiosinoviortesis (RSO) es parte del tratamiento médico que busca la estabilización de la membrana sinovial por medio de la inyección de un radionúclido en la articulación. Objetivo: realizar una revisión de la radiosinoviortesis, su utilidad, indicaciones y los costos, en el paciente con hemofilia. Métodos: se utilizaron las palabras claves en las bases de datos de MEDLINE y COCHRANE, encontrando 15 artículos de relevancia y 11 fuentes secundarias, las cuales se utilizan para la realización de la presente revisión. Conclusiones: la radiosinoviortesis es un procedimiento efectivo para el control de la sinovitis crónica. En países donde hay disponibilidad de los radionúclidos la RSO es la primera opción de tratamiento para la artropatía hemofílica.
