Resumen
La patología de piso pélvico tiene una alta prevalencia en mujeres mayores a 50 años, y presenta una alta tasa de falla en su diagnóstico clínico, conllevando a resultados no satisfactorios posterior al manejo quirúrgico. La defecografía por resonancia magnética tiene un papel importante para el estudio del piso pélvico, aportando información valiosa tanto anatómica como funcionalmente. En este artículo se abordará la técnica del estudio, hallazgos normales, interpretación y patología de los compartimentos pélvicos masculinos y femeninos. Se abordarán entidades como cistocele, hipermovilidad uretral, histerocele, prolapso uterino y vaginal, rectocele, prolapso rectal, enterocele, incontinencia anal, síndrome de descenso perineal y anismo.
